Surajpur: BJP leader ShivCharan Kashi was shot dead on late Saturday night in Chandni Bihar Pur area of Surajpur area outside his house. The incident reportedly happened in Pasal village belonging to Chandni Bihar Pur police station where the leader was allegedly shot dead, triggering panic in the area.
The leader was sprayed with bullet and the assailant made an easy escape.
According to the cops, blood stains were found on deceased's clothes and attempts were made to drag the body. Primary investigation suggests that the saffron leader was locked in a land dispute with a Singrauli resident.

As per the information, the deceased and Singrauli resident were at loggerheads over land dispute but the argument heated up on Saturday night which took a ugly turn.
Upon learning of the incident, the cops swung into action and reached the incident spot. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway and dog squads have also been pressed into service.
All entry and exit points of the district have been sealed. The police also started raiding the possible locations of the culprits.
