Lockdown is the only weapon to fight COVID-19: Giriraj Singh

Union Minsiter Giriraj Singh appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision of lockdown and said that the lockdown is the only weapon to lead fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

New Delhi: Union Minister for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Giriraj Singh on Friday described the lockdown announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the only best method to fight the battle against coronavirus pandemic.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh said: "In present scenario, lockdown is the only weapon to fight against COVID-19. States CMs, WHO and other countries have also appreciated PM Modi's decision of lockdown in the entire nation."

"India would have faced situations like Spain, Italy, America and other countries if lockdown was not implemented. Until there is no proper medication for the coronavirus people must follow the rules of lockdown and social distancing."

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the extension of lockdown till May 3 to contain the spread of coronavirus cases in the country. However, the Prime Minister said there could be some relaxations after April 20 where there are no hotspots.
