Kerala: Rajmohan Unnithan, MP of Kasargod in Kerala, has written a letter to the Chief Justice of India complaining that his petition concerning the Karnataka-Kerala Border sealing issue was not heard and the matter was disposed of on Tuesday without hearing.

He said that on 3rd April when the case was listed there were serious technical glitches and his lawyers were not provided with the link of video conferencing through which the court is hearing the matters these days.

On that day the court had directed the chief secretaries of both the states and the centre to convene a meeting and solve the problem amicably. On Tuesday the court was informed by the centre that no dispute exists now and therefore the court disposed of the petitions.

Unnithan objecting to the centre's statement contended that initially the death toll which stood at 2 due to not allowing the ill patients to cross the border, has increased to 10.

He cited his conversations with the reporters standing at the border and the media reports, which claim that the Karnataka police is still not allowing the passage and returning the patients back. He asked the court to take suo moto contempt action against the officials who violated the court's order.

Further, he complained that his petition had sought for movement of trucks and other vehicles but that aspect was not even brought to the notice of the apex court. Stating that even other lawyers appearing for both the states and other similar PILs were not heard, Unnithan requested the court to list the matter again for effective hearing.
