Bengaluru (Karnataka): In what may appear as a rift within the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Karnataka, some of the party’s old-timers held series of meetings under the leadership of MLAs Basangouda Ramangouda Patil Yatnal, Umesh Kathi and Murugesh Nirani to discuss leadership change in the party and the state, as per sources.
The meetings were held in the absence of BJP leader and Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
As per sources, Yediyurappa has reached out to the ‘disgruntled’ MLAs after gaining knowledge of the meeting and offered to address their concerns and demands.

Earlier, in February this year, close on the heels of the Cabinet expansion, some senior disgruntled MLAs of the BJP had raised the banner of revolt against Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa. A meeting was held at the residence of senior leader and Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar in Bengaluru to express displeasure with the “functioning style” of CM Yediyurappa.
