New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday will address the nation during an event to commemorate 20 years of the Kargil War.
This is the first time the prime minister will be addressing on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas observing the 20 years of the battle fought in Jammu and kashmir's Kargil to push out Pakistani Army who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and occupied high outposts.
The three-hour programme is scheduled to be held at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium will have star singer Mohit Chauhan presenting patriotic songs. The Shillong Chamber Choir will also give performance during the event.
An eight-minute film on the Kargil War will also be screened.
Screening of patriotic videos and performances by military bands are listed in the programme.
While the three service chiefs were in Dras at the Kargil War Memorial to pay homepage on July 26, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid a wreath at the war memorial in New Delhi and honoured the sacrifices and valour of those killed in the war.
