New Delhi: A day after BJP-led NDA Government patted itself on completion of a year being in power in its second term, Congress party's senior leader Kapil Sibal took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that even "Bahubali PM could not face Coronavirus pandemic and pushed the country into more distress" while alleging that the "Government is maintaining Social Distancing with poor people of this country.
"Future history books will recognize this government as the harbinger of doom. The PM talks about protecting democracy, until March 24, when they throttled democracy," said Sibal.
The senior Congress leader lashed out at the Center for "mishandling of a pandemic that forced people into a crisis."
He said, "PM says that he has made India a global leader. Of which world? Nepal is showing us eyes, there's a standoff with China. Why PM is not looking at them in their eyes?"
Sibal also asked the Government to come clean over the matter, saying, "Instead of giving us news from sources, Foreign Minister and Defence Minister should come and address the nation to give us updates on what is happening on borders of this country."

Sibal accused the Government of playing divisive politics and having polarized agendas while mentioning that people have come together in the fight against COVID-19.
He cited that Government claimed National Population Register, Citizenship (Amendment) Act, Ayodhya verdict, Triple Talaq and Misuse of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act as their achievement rather than having an agenda for education health care and concerns of poor."
"During the lockdown crisis, people helped each other. After March 24, the government had to subside its divisive agenda. Prior to the lockdown, the government's agenda was only polarization," he said.
He alleged that the Government has failed to deal with the migrant crisis. He said that people walking on roads hoping to reach their native States are actually a testimony of the government's "apathy" as many people have lost their lives due to starvation.
The Congress leader also questioned PM-CARES fund, saying, "I want to ask PM Modi, how much money have you paid to migrant workers from PM CARES fund? Do you know the number of people who have died?"
