Kadapa police dispose over 1K illegal weapons

As many as 1219 illegal weapons, seized from several criminals between 1987 to 2009 in Kadapa district, were disposed of by the police department. The illegal arms were laid on the road and smashed by running it over by a road roller. The destroyed arms would be buried in AR grounds, as per the police

Kadapa: Police on Saturday disposed of 1,219 illegal weapons seized from several criminals between 1987 to 2009 in the district.

A police team, led by DIG Nagendra Kumar and SP Rahul Dev Sharma, smashed all the weapons under a road-roller.

The DIG said they would bury all the smashed arms and urged people to hand over the unlicensed weapons, if they had any, to the police.

He issued a warning that tough action would be taken against those found with any illegal weapon.
