New Delhi: Hours after Jyotiraditya Scindia joined BJP, Congress Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday said that Scindia's joining BJP will have negative implications on him.

"It will have negative implications for Jyotiraditya himself. What did he not get in Congress! He got respect, ministerial position, he was a member of the Congress Working Committee. He should have stick to the Congress' ideology but he chose to put his personnel interest above everything," said Gaurav Gogoi in an exclusive interview to ETV Bharat.

Accusing the BJP of playing vindictive politics, Gogoi said that BJP does not respect peoples' mandate.

"This government (BJP) is interested in bringing down the elected government in Madhya Pradesh. Instead of tackling the issue of unemployment, unrest in the society, economic slowdown...this party is busy doing vindictive politics," said Gogoi.

Gogoi also said that BJP is afraid of the Gandhi family. "BJP and RSS are afraid of Gandhi family. They are afraid of Rahul's leadership," he said while countering criticism regarding Rahul Gandhi.

He vehemently criticised the central government for the recent communal violence that took place in the national capital and said that for the last one week the ruling party was avoiding discussion on Delhi violence.

"This government denied of taking responsibility and accountability. We have not seen 'rajdharma' being performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi because he should have come with statements on Delhi riots on day one itself...if the government would have followed rajdharma Home Minister Amit Shah should have resigned," added Gogoi.
