Jammu and Kashmir: SSB man shoots self in Handwara

An official identified as Amit Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh posted at 37 BN SSB Vilgam shot himself with his service rifle on Sunday night. He was rushed to Handwara hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Handwara: A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel on Sunday night shot himself with his service rifle in Vilgam area of North Kashmir's Kupwara district.

According to sources, Amit Kumar a resident of Utter Pradesh posted at 37 BN SSB Vilgam shot himself dead with his service rifle on Sunday night. He was rushed to Handwara hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Meanwhile, police have initiated proceedings in this regard and started further investigation.

Earlier on 16th September an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Central Reserve Police Force allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in Naxal-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
