New Delhi: Hoping that the Supreme Court verdict on Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid case would be in their favour, Jamaat-E-Islami Hind has said that it would honour the decision in any case.
Interacting with the ETV Bharat here, Salim Engineer, national secretary of Jamaat-E-Islami Hind, said the way discussions and arguments have taken place in the top court, it is expected that the court would decide the matter on the basis of the evidence produced before it.
"We are hopeful that the court would decide it right," he said.
Engineer, however, said in the same breath that "whatever the decision may be, we will abide by it".
Asked to comment on the state government approaching people before the decision and asking them to maintain peace, he said "it was duty of the administration to ensure law and order and it should do all needed for it".
