Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate college and administration buildings of Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University through remote video conference at 12.30 today. A PMO release said that Prime Minister will also interact with students of the university during the event.
2. Jharkhand govt extends lockdown restrictions within containment zones till September 30
The Jharkhand government extended COVID-19 lockdown within the containment zones up to September 30. As per the government order, all economic activities, not specifically prohibited, shall be permitted outside the containment zones. Large congregations including, social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious functions or processions will remain banned till September 30.
3. BJP chief to chair meeting of Bihar BJP MPs, senior leaders to finalise assembly poll strategy
Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda will chair a meeting of all the party MPs from Bihar and senior party leaders on Saturday (today) to finalise its poll strategy for the upcoming state assembly elections. According to sources, all the BJP MPs from Bihar including union ministers Ravishankar Prasad, Giriraj Singh, RK Singh, Nityanand Rai and Ashwini Choubey are likely to attend the meeting at the party office to discuss preparations for Bihar elections.
4. 60 winners to attend National Sports and Adventure Awards 2020 via virtual event
60 award winners will attend the National Sports and Adventure Awards 2020 via a virtual event on Saturday, August 29. "Due to health and other reasons issues, 14 awardees will be not be attending the National Sports Awards functions from various SAI centres," SAI said in a statement. President of India, Ram Nath Kovind will present the award to the award winners in virtual mode.
