Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conduct an all-party meeting to discuss the situation on the country’s border with China, on Friday following the violent face-off between Indian and Chinese armies which killed as many as 20 Indian soldiers.
2. Rajya Sabha polls in eight states to be held today
Elections to vacant Rajya Sabha seats spread across eight states will be held on Friday with the results to be declared on the same evening. Out of the total 55 seats, 36 were chosen uncontested. The voting is to be conducted for 19 leftover seats in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and Mizoram. The polling will begin at 9 am and conclude at 4 pm. The counting will start at 5 pm.

4. Bodies of martyred soldiers to reach their homes today
The bodies of soldiers who were martyred in the Galwan valley clash with the Chinese army on the intervening night of June 15/16 are scheduled to reach their homes today in Bihar, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Cremation will be held today with full state honours.
5. 41 coal mines auction to be launched today
Auctioning of 41 coal mines for commercial mining will be launched today. The initiative was announced recently by the Centre under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the event.

7. Triple X-2 row: Hearing in CJM court on Ekta Kapoor's web-series
A case was registered against Film producer Ekta Kapoor for allegedly spreading obscenity via her latest web series. The character of the soldier's wife in the web-series has been depicted as a woman doing immoral acts and tearing the army uniform. Hearing will be conducted at CJM court in Bihar's Muzaffarpur.
8. Jagannath Sena has called Puri bandh today
Jagannath Sena has called for a bandh at Puri on Friday following the decision of Supreme Court not to hold Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra this year. The observation from the top court came on a plea by an NGO Odisha Vikas Parishad seeking direction to stay the holding of the Rath Yatra festival, which spans for 10-12 days and involves the gathering of lakhs of devotees from across the world.
