New Delhi: Union Home Ministry was lampooned on social media after a purported Facebook post on its official page. A photograph of liquor bottles was uploaded along with the photographs of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel carrying out restoration work in Bengal's Amphan hit areas on the Home Ministry's official Facebook page, triggering a controversy.


Sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs said that this is an inadvertent mistake on the part of the person handling the MHA official page.

"There was a mix-up of Facebook pages. The person who was handling the Facebook account of the Ministry has tendered a written apology and the picture was removed at 9:32 am," sources added.


However, official response from the Ministry of Home Affairs is still awaited.
