Thakur tested negative in July

Earlier in July, after going into home quarantine, Thakur and his wife Sadhna tested negative for Covid-19.

“The chief minister and his wife have tested negative for Covid-19,” Dr Janakraj Pakhretia, the medical superintendent of Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla had said.

Many senior BJP leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, had tested positive for the infection.

With the spread of Covid-19 infections slowing down, India today recorded less than 70,000 cases and below 900 fatalities for the first time in the last six days. The COVID curve is showing a downward trend as active cases continued abate for the tenth consecutive day. India's total case tally stands at 71,20,539 with 8,61,853 active cases.
