New Delhi: Jharkhand chief minister-designate Hemant Soren on Wednesday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and senior party leader Rahul Gandhi and invited them for his swearing-in ceremony scheduled in Ranchi on December 29.

Soren said PM Modi and HM Shah will also be invited

Soren was accompanied by Congress leaders KC Venugopal and RPN Singh, who is the party's in-charge for Jharkhand.

Speaking to reporters, Soren confirmed that Rahul Gandhi will attend his swearing-in, while Sonia Gandhi might also do so.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will also be invited to the ceremony. Many non-BJP Chief Ministers are also expected to be present at Soren's oath-taking ceremony.

Soren did not reveal much about the alliance's power-sharing agreement, telling reporters that they would eventually know about the deputy CM post and ministerial berths once the swearing-n takes place on December 29.

According to sources, however, the alliance has come up with two power-sharing formulae.

Under the first formula, JMM will get the Chief Minister's post along with six ministerial berths, Congress will get the Speaker's post and five ministers, while one minister will also be from RJD.

According to the second formula, JMM will get the CM post and five ministers, Congress the Speaker and four ministers, while the JVM (P) and RJD will get one ministerial berth each.

The JMM-led three-party alliance stormed to power in Jharkhand on Monday, ousting the BJP in yet another state in the Hindi heartland after the saffron party's stupendous performance in the Lok Sabha elections.

The JMM on Wednesday said Governor Droupadi Murmu has invited its working president and chief minister-designate Hemant Soren to form government.

The governor's invitation comes a day after Soren called on the govenor at Raj Bhavan to stake claim to form government, submitting a letter of support of 50 MLAs to her.

The pre-poll opposition combine bagged 47 seats (JMM 30, Congress 16 and RJD one) in the 81-member assembly, while the three-member JVM (P) has extended "unconditional support" to Soren to form government.

Contesting the Jharkhand elections alone for the first time sans long-standing ally the AJSU Party, the ruling BJP bagged 25 seats.
