New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh released the second volume of 'A coffee-table book Jewels of Punjab – Leading Global Punjabi Personalities.
The book is an ode to all those Punjabis who have struggled, loved, and made India proud, even while staying beyond the boundaries of the nation.
The event also coincided with the global celebrations of 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji.
Speaking on this occasion, former Prime Minister said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji had given the message that secularism alone can unite communities and nations and it's true even after 500 years.

"He gave a message of ensuring secularism which unites communities and in that quest he created ethos we talk about even today," Singh said.
He also said that let the birth anniversary of the Sikhism founder be an occasion to unite people of Punjab wherever they may be.
"Punjabis are an international community now, whether you are in the US, Canada, New Zealand Australia, wherever they have gone they have got name and fame," he said.
On this occasion, Dr Manmohan Singh also honoured the 75 featured global Punjabis, the leading luminaries of the Punjabi diaspora from over 20 countries.
Some featured among them were Fauja Singh, Chef Manjit Singh Gill, the former Chief of Indian Army General JJ Singh, the former Chief Justice JS Khehar, Khalsa Aid International’s Ravi Singh, leading Canadian builder Bill Malhotra and several other personalities.
