Bhopal: In a big crackdown on drug mafia, Indore police on Sunday arrested two people in connection with the seizure of 70 kilograms of MDMA drugs worth Rs 70 crore in the international market. Coincidentally, the arrested accused identified as Wasim Khan and Aayub Qureshi, are also prime accused in T-series owner Gulshan Kumar murder and 1993 Mumbai blast cases, respectively.
Indore ADG Yogesh Deshmukh said these arrests were made after earlier arrested accused in the 70 kgs drugs case revealed that Khan and Qureshi were also involved in drug trafficking. Deshmukh said that Wasim Khan and Aayub Qureshi were arrested from Nashik and Mumbai respectively.
Police had earlier arrested Vedprakash Vyas, Dinesh Agarwal and Sardar Khan in the case- the biggest seizure of the psychoactive drug in the country.

Wasim Khan was acquitted in Gulshan Kumar murder case and later reportedly started smuggling drugs. On the other hand, Qureshi, who was sent to five years of imprisonment in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blast case, also reportedly joined the drug racket.
According to reports, Khan is a close aide of underworld gangster Abu Salem and has many criminal cases registered against him. Another accused Qureshi had links with Dinesh Agarwal and Sardar Khan who were running a drug racket under the garb of a tent house and catering business.
Police said that they are investigating the case from all angles to ascertain that the drug mafia has roots in other parts of the country or not.
