New Delhi: A man was arrested at Delhi IGI Airport Terminal 3 upon his arrival from Jeddah for allegedly smuggling 647 grams of gold concealed in marker pen, Additional Commissioner of Customs Jayant Sahay said.
The passenger had come to Delhi from Jeddah, he added.
The custom officials suspected him after he crossed the Green Channel, he added.
After a thorough search, 16 gold wire and 2 silver chains were found concealed in a marker pen.
The recovered gold, worth Rs 22,96,000 was seized under section 110 and the person was arrested under section 104 of the Customs Act.
