Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth's fan, tried to set himself ablaze after the actor announced his decision to not start a political party.
Insisting that the Tamil actor should revoke his decision, Murugesan (55) attempted to commit suicide near Rajinikanth's house at Poes Garden, Chennai on December 31 at 3 45 pm.
Police stopped the man from setting himself on fire and immediately sent him to Royapet Government Hospital. He is undergoing treatment and police has initiated the investigation.
Rajinikanth's political entry ended up in an anti-climax and his supporters were puzzled. The actor cited his health issue as the inhibitor. His ardent supporters marched in front of the actor's house.
