Kottayam: As wearing masks has become mandatory for anyone going out in the public during COVID times, many feel that their identity is being hidden. A photo studio owner from Kerala has come up with a solution - masks with the print of your own face on them.

Binesh, the proprietor of Beenas Studio in Ettumanoor, Kottayam, has come up with the idea of printing one’s own photo to the mask to overcome that feeling of ‘identity being masked’.

Reach the studio, give a photograph of yours, Binesh can print the photo on to a mask and give the printed mask to you in just 15 minutes. You can flaunt your own face printed mask at just Rs 60. Those who do not have a photo can get photographed at his studio and then get the face printed mask at no extra charges, Binesh says.

The idea struck Binesh when even his close friends found it hard to identify him with the mask on. He printed one for himself on a trial basis at his own studio. As it came out well, he started doing it for his customers.

The same technique used to print photos on mugs and T-shirts is being used to print photos on face masks. After editing the photograph, it is printed on to the plain mask by heating it at 210-degree Celsius for 8 minutes. Those who buy face printed masks from Binesh return happy that they need not introduce themselves at their common spaces every other day when people find it hard to identify each other.
