Bengaluru: A nationwide lockdown which was imposed to flatten the curve of novel Coronavirus infection in the country has caused an adverse effect on the lives of many daily wage labourers and farmers in the country.
One such daily wage labourer, Bhagyamma, who used to work in fields in Byadarahalli of Bengaluru to earn her daily bread but due to the lockdown she had no way feed her two children.
After ETV Bharat reported the plight of Bhagyamma, Vanitha helpline came forward to help her.
Bhagyamma's husband left her after which she had the responsibility to feed her children. Recently, Etv Bharat has reported about the difficulties she was facing to feed her family and after reading the story Vanitha helpline officials came to know about Bhagyamma.
Vanitha women Helpline provided her with a Stitching machine and also a stitching teacher Geetha Vellapalli who taught her how to make a mask from cloths.
Now Bhagyamma is earning good by stitching Masks and other clothes. From this earning, she is living happily with her children even during the lockdown.
Vanitha women Helpline Manager Rani Shetty said while talking to the Etv Bharat, "Our organization will stand with such ladies who are facing the problems of Sexual harassment, Family issues, and poverty. We have to work for them."
Bagyamma is now an independent woman who can work and feed her family without even having a job.
