Hyderabad: As the JEE, NEET 2020 examinations are scheduled to take place in the month of September, the regulator issued several guidelines for the candidates in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Over 17 lakh candidates have already downloaded their admit cards for JEE and NEET, and this shows that the students want the exams to be conducted at any cost.
With this, NEET-JEE aspirants expressed their willingness on conducting exams, exclusively talking to 'ETV Bharat', when their state governments made their minds to move to the Supreme Court. On the other hand, the Centre made all the preparations to move ahead as per the Supreme Court's order.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, a student, Md Afsar Ali said, "Considering the prevailing Covid-19 condition, the NTA has made all efforts for smooth conduct of the examination. We have prepared a lot for the examination and It is good news that our exams will be conducted."
"Universities and schools across the country have been closed since 16 March when the Centre announced a countrywide classroom shut down as part of measures to contain the COVID-19 outbreak. After a long time, we will be back to the desk bench and Our preparations for the examination are on high. We are happy that we are going for the JEE-NEET exams," said Abhijit Yadav, student.
"If the exam will be delayed, then it may cause a crisis in the coming time. We have prepared for the exam for the whole year and we don't want to miss out this year for this pandemic. But the guidelines issued by the government during the examination should be implemented and the examination should be conducted," said Riya Sengupta, student.

The government has also detailed the elaborate safety measures it is taking, from sanitising the examination centres before and after the exams to providing masks and gloves for students. Other arrangements include staggered entry, temperature checks and social distancing inside and outside the centres. So, it is worthy for us that we should appear the examination with following the guidelines," said, Krutika Kasat, student.
While the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is scheduled to be held on September 13, engineering entrance exam JEE-Main has been planned from September 1 to 6. Around 8.58 lakh candidates have registered for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and 15.97 lakh students have registered for NEET.
These exams have already been deferred twice in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. The JEE-Mains was originally scheduled to be held from April 7-11 but postponed to July 18-23, NEET-UG was originally scheduled for May 3, then pushed to July 26. They were postponed again and are now scheduled to be held in September.
It is pertinent to be mentioned here that a total of 9.53 lakh students registered with JEE-Mains while 15.97 lakh for NEET, more than 16 lakh students already downloaded admit cards for NEET & JEE.
