Uttarakhand: Doon school's wall collapses due to heavy rains
Dehradun: Panic gripped residents of Dehradun after a portion of a boundary wall collapsed due to heavy rainfall on Monday. The debris from the collapse blocked the road, disrupting vehicular movements. Additionally, rainfall entered in some of the houses and the residents struggled to drain it out.
After the incident came to light, local MLA Ganesh Joshi visited the area with other district administration officials to take a stock of the situation. Uttarakhand is reeling under heavy rainfall and landslides which has disrupted the normal lives in the city. Bindal bridge built along the banks of Rispana river has also collapsed following incessant rainfall.
Meanwhile, a railway pool in Deepnagar has also been washed away and water has inundated in many houses, mounting trouble for the people.
Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra route in Dharchula of Pithoragarh district is also blocked at two locations due to incessant rainfall and landslides. Traffic movement is halted and operation to clear the route is underway. The Queen of hills, Mussoorie witnessed disruption in normal life due to incessant rain, resulting in landslides in some parts of the city.

Mussoorie-Dehradun highway was also affected by the debris due to the landslide, completely disrupting traffic. Another landslide was reported from near Kolukhet and JP Band area.
Heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand, damaging several houses and roads. Earlier today, a cloudburst was also reported in Sirwadi village which has affected the norma life in the area.
Following heavy rainfall in Dehradun and surrounding areas since morning, the road from Rajpur to Mussoorie was obstructed by the falling of heavy trees on Monday.
In addition, the local people of the area are facing several problems due to the accumulation of debris in the affected areas. Vehicular movement has also become slow in the region.
At the same time, tress fell on electrical wires resulting in damage in surrounding areas, and the electricity supply of the area was disrupted. District administration and concerned authorities paid a visit to the flood-ravaged areas and assured people of all the possible assistance.
However, people expressed their outrage after water submerged in their houses and adjoining areas. In Govindgarh area, walls of houses have collapsed following incessant rainfall.
