He added that we have established a social media command center with cutting-edge technology and a dedicated team to monitor the online conversation and provide resolution.

At the airside, experienced airport staff provide follow-me service to pilots to ensure seamless movement of aircraft and maintain vigil to avoid any untoward incident in dense fog situation.

Runways 28, 29 and 11 at Delhi airport are certified for CAT-IIIB operations which allow complete aircraft and trained pilots to land even when the runway visibility is down to 50 meters, added Videsh Kumar Jaipuria.

CAT-IIIB Instrument Landing System allows flights to land with Runway Visual Range (RVR) of up to 50 meters with a decision height of 15 meters.

Speaking on the operational readiness, S.B. Sharma, General Manager, Air Traffic Management (ATM)-ATC said, "With the new ATC tower and latest gadgets, becoming operational, the air traffic controllers will be able to work with ease and handle more flights."

Now, Delhi airport will give regular updates on flights on display screens along with the display of weather-related information at MATV screens inside terminals.
