The country now has 18,55,745 infections of the deadly virus which has affected more than 18 million people globally. As per the latest data, the recovery rate among COVID-19 patients in India has risen to 66.31 per cent, while the fatality rate has further dropped to 2.10 per cent.

Hyderabad: India has recorded over 300,000 cases in 6 days. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday said that the country’s fatality rate has progressively declined to 2.10 per cent, the lowest since the first lockdown.

Delhi

New Delhi: Delhi on Tuesday recorded 674 fresh cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), taking the cumulative tally of infection count to 1,39,156. The death toll reached 4,033 on Tuesday after national capital also recorded 12 new deaths, lowest Delhi has reported in a day since the death figures were revised by authorities in June. The number of active cases in Delhi has also reduced to less than 10,000 at 9,897 out of which over 5,000 people infected with virus continue to remain under home isolation.

Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has reported 588 police personnel, including officials, who tested coronavirus disease (Covid-19) positive, and around 2,000 have been quarantined so far.

Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Good news for citizens of the Temple City! In order to make the process of contact tracing faster and following other case management processes swiftly, the testing results coming from various testing centres across the city will be uploaded to the ICMR portal in real-time basis from August 6.

Rajasthan

Jaipur: A total of 551 new Covid-19 cases and eight deaths have been reported from Rajasthan in the last 24 hours, the State Health Department informed. With this, Rajasthan now has a total of 46,106 positive cases, including 13,222 active cases and 727 deaths.

Karnataka

Bengaluru: Karnataka on Tuesday reported its biggest single-day spike of 6,259 COVID-19 cases and 110 fresh deaths, taking the total infection count to 1,45,830 and the toll to 2,704, the health department said. The day also saw a record of 6,777 patients getting discharged after recovery.

Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Tuesday directed authorities in Jammu and Kashmir to focus on reducing the mortality rate among the critically ill COVID-19 patients in the Union territory.
