Delhi

New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Friday rejected two moves by the Arvind Kejriwal government as part of the third phase of easing the COVID-19 lockdown. Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party government had allowed hotels to reopen from Saturday and a one-week trial for the weekly markets in the city as part of "Unlock 3".

Bihar

Patna: The Bihar government has imposed additional restrictions, in-state headquarters, district headquarters, sub-divisional headquarters, block headquarters and all municipal areas in the state from August 1-16 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday appealed to the Ministers and MLAs in the state to contribute 30 per cent of their salaries to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: The human trial of India's first potential coronavirus vaccine Covaxin has started in Uttar Pradesh today. Uttar Pradesh's Rana Hospital and Trauma Centre was one of the 12 institutes selected by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for clinical human trial of Covaxin.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy reviewed the status of COVID-19 testing from different districts via video conferencing on Friday. Tripathy stressed on sample collection, isolation and testing. He directed officials to increase the testing level for containing coronavirus.

Ranchi: Two employees associated with the office of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren have been reported to be infected with the Coronavirus. A team from the Health Department has visited the Chief Minister's residential complex and taken swab of personnel for the test.

Panic gripped railway gangmen of the Chakradharpur division when one of their colleagues died of Covid-19 early on Thursday. The victim, a 55-year-old man, complained of breathing problems after which he was taken to Tatanagar railway hospital.

Jaipur: Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra on Friday appealed to all those who have recovered from COVID-19 to donate their plasma at the new plasma bank started at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur. The plasma donated by them would help to treat those infected with the coronavirus.
