Amid the ongoing political turmoil in the state, BJP's Rajasthan state president underwent COVID-19 test and his report came back negative today. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed that he is fine and saluted the corona warriors of the state for their services. Chouhan was tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday and was admitted to the Chirayu Hospital for treatment.

Hyderabad: While India is putting in all efforts to prepare a vaccine for the cure of the deadly coronavirus, the world's third worst-hit country on Sunday recorded close to 49,000 (48,661) cases in the last 24 hours taking the total tally to over 13.8 lakh cases while the death toll crossed 32,000 (32,063) with 675 deaths in just one hour.

Rajasthan

Amid the ongoing political turmoil in the state, BJP state president underwent COVID-19 test and his report came back negative today. Rajasthan reported eight more COVID-19 deaths on Sunday, taking their number to 621 as 611 new cases of the infection pushed the state's tally to 35,909.

Meanwhile, in Jodhpur, which has emerged as a cause of concern with rising COVID infections, the divisional commissioner has been admitted to AIIMS after developing breathing difficulties. Shortly after Gehlot administration developed plans to implement Ramganj model in densely populated Jodhpur, both divisional commissioner and collector had tested positive. Also, Sursagar area of the city has become a new hotspot.

Meanwhile, in Kota central jail a total of 23 new cases were reported today.

Bihar

The state has recorded 36,314 cases so far. Over 230 have succumbed to the disease, while 24,520 people have recovered. The recovery rate in the state was much higher than the national average on June 28. The rate is still 4% higher than the national average which is at 63.45%. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also instructed officials to increase COVID-19 testing.

Meanwhile, Bihar Cabinet agreed to give "special family pension" to the dependents of state government staff who die of COVID-19 while on duty, according to an official release.

The dependent of a government employee, who die of COVID-19 while on duty, will be given the benefit of compassionate ground, for getting a job, besides other existing benefits.

Madhya Pradesh

The districts of Katni and Chhatarpur will go under complete lockdown from today. Besides, the government also decided to increase vigil in border districts, claiming the spike in coronavirus cases has been caused due to the entry of people from adjoining states.

Taking to Twitter, Chouhan urged people to inform health officials if they develop any symptoms of coronavirus.

Delhi

Delhi's COVID-19 recovery rate reached nearly 88 per cent on Sunday, with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal saying the national capital is now in the 10th position among states and union territories as the number of active cases are "steadily" going down.

In the last 24 hours, 1,807 patients have either recovered, been discharged or migrated out of the city. Health Minister Satyendra Jain said progress is going well in Delhi for one and a half months. The positivity rate has also reduced to 5%.

Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand's COVID-19 tally rose to 6,104 with 143 more people testing positive for the disease. So far, 3,604 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the state, 38 have migrated out of the state. The number of active cases stood at 2,437.
