Hyderabad: The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 13,254 in the country on Sunday and the number of coronavirus cases climbed to 4,10,461 with as many as 1,69,451 active cases. A total of 2,27,755 patients have also been discharged to date.

Odisha

Odisha reports 304 new COVID-19 cases, highest-ever single-day spike

As many as 304 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of infections so far in Odisha to 5,160.

Out of the 304 infections, 272 were reported from quarantine centres and 32 were local cases. The numbers include 42 fire and NDRF personnel who returned from West Bengal after cyclone Amphan duty and tested positive from quarantine centres.

Odisha has so far reported 14 deaths with two deaths being reported in the last 24 hours. Five others who tested positive for COVID-19 died of other underlying conditions with one of them dying in the last 24 hours.

The state has so far conducted 2,24,402 tests.

Delhi

Health Minister 's condition improving; the team of doctors on standby: Officials

New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain's health condition has improved after receiving the plasma therapy, Delhi Health Minister officials said on Sunday.

The 55-year-old leader's fever has subsided and the oxygen level has improved. Doctors say that he can be shifted to the general ward by tomorrow.

On Friday, Jain's health deteriorated after he developed pneumonia during the ongoing treatment for COVID-19 at the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality hospital.

The national capital recorded 3,000 fresh novel coronavirus cases on Sunday, taking the COVID-19 tally in the city near the 60,000-mark, while the death toll due to the disease increased to 2,175, authorities said.

It was the third day on the trot that the number of cases touched or crossed the 3,000-mark.

On Saturday, Delhi had witnessed 3,630 cases, the highest single-day spike here.

On Friday, the number was 3,137. As many as 63 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll from the coronavirus now stands at 2,175 and the total number of cases at 59,746, according to the latest Delhi health department bulletin.

It said as many as 33,013 patients have recovered, been discharged, or migrated so far, while there are 24,558 active cases.

The bulletin said a total of 3,70,014 tests have been conducted till date, with 19,474 tests per million population. The total number of COVID-19 positive patients under home isolation stands at 12,106 in the city, it said.

Uttarakhand

With 23 new Covid-19 cases in Uttarakhand, state tally reaches 2324

Dehradun: With 23 fresh Covid-19 cases reported on Sunday, Uttarakhand’s tally reached to 2324, informed state health department.

Meanwhile, 1486 people have been cured, and to cope up with the increasing case, the state government has started building a COVID-19 care centre in Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
