The duo had got enrolled for a course hotel management many days before the lockdown.

Their training was called off two days before the lockdown but they were unable to go back to Nagpur as all the trains were cancelled. They contacted the municipal councillor from Shahpur ward Falguni ben Shah who arranged for their boarding and lodging.

Both of them were in a panic and wanted to return to their home town at the earliest. However, there was no way to leave Ahmedabad. With help from the municipal councillor, both stayed with her at her home for more than 45 days. They then contacted Ahmedabad district collector Nirala who issued them the permit to travel to Nagpur after scrutinizing their documents and medical reports.

They were given a warm send-off by the residents of the locality where they had been staying for so long during the lockdown period.

There are still many such students stranded in Ahmedabad waiting to go back to their home towns.
