Katihar (Bihar): At a time when everyone is trying to contribute their bit in one or the other way in order to help the country fight the pandemic of coronavirus, Palak, a student of 4th standard donated her piggy bank savings to PM care fund.
She handed over the money to the branch manager of SBI bank in presence of Police officials.
Palak and her father Deepak Sharma, who hail from Manihari Bazar of Katihar district in Bihar always had an interest in social service since childhood. Palak would often donate her savings to the needy on her birthdays. Palak had been saving the money from the past several months.
After Palak came to know about the appeal by PM to donate to PM care fund through various means, she at once pledged to donate her savings to PM care fund in order to help the people who are the victims of coronavirus in one or the other way.
Palak along with her family members reached the office of the Manihari Subdivision Police Officer and handed over the money deposited in her piggy bank. The police immediately called Manihari SBI manager Abhishek Kumar and handed over the amount of Rs 409 to the manager in front of her.
Palak said that when the epidemic of corona started spreading across the world, people started coming forward for help.

"I also started collecting money thinking that one day I can donate to the relief fund. I feel good by donating my money", Palak added.
SBI branch manager Abhishek Kumar said that Palak has done very commendable and inspiring work. Also, he said that whoever wants to contribute to the PM disaster fund, can directly contact the bank. Touched by her gesture, everyone wished the girl a bright future.
Manihari DSP MSH Fakhri said that he salutes the girl's spirit and also thank the parents of the girl for inculcating good values.
