Jaipur: A young couple, who was in a live-in relationship, was allegedly shot dead in Jaipur in broad-daylight on Saturday, triggering panic in the area. The incident was reported from Kotputhali police station limits, prompting Jaipur superintendent Shankar Dutt Sharma to visit the crime scene.
Police said that the son of the deceased woman, identified as Suman Chaudhary, was not happy with the relationship and it is suspected that he might have reportedly killed the couple. Suman's son Pankaj Chaudhary is on the run after the incident, triggering speculations that he might be involved in the crime.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the deceased woman had separated from her husband and started living with her lover Matadin and her two children.
"Suman and her ex-husband apparently shared a soured relationship and the couple decided to part ways. The victim's son had opposed to her new live-in relationship and was not happy with it," police said.
Police officials, who reached the crime scene, stated that Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and dog squad have been pressed into service to crack the case. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
