Chandigarh (Haryana): Five corona patients, who were tested positive for COVID-19 have been treated, have also been discharged. They have safely reached their homes. One of these is the story of Yash Sharma who shared with ETV Bharat his journey of being treated after being discovered as positive for coronavirus.

What Yash Sharma shared with ETV Bharat.

Yash shared that his virus symptoms began with a low fever of 99.4-99.5 and as soon as he felt fever, he contacted the doctor.

"I told the doctor of the symptoms I was experiencing and got admitted in the hospital. I did not feel any pain in the treatment process, the whole process was handled very normally and the doctors, the nurses, in fact, the whole hospital staff too were very helpful and I faced no problems in the treatment period for the first few days," Yash said.

"After 4 or 5 days, I felt a high fever for two days. After which my body started to ache and I began getting a cough. Even though I had no problems physically, I did not feel fully healthy. Due to the infection being present in the body at the time, patients are kept in isolation wards by doctors, which averts any danger of other persons getting infected," he said.

"I spent a total of 17 days in the isolation ward, I felt the real symptoms of the COVID virus after 7 -8 days, like fever body ache and cough. In the period I spent more time trying to rest. After recovering from symptoms, I spent my time studying, and talking to family and friends".

"While in quarantine, a person is permitted to use his phone, laptop etc. I also kept my phone and laptop in the isolation ward which thus allowed me to read whatever I liked on the laptop. I also watched a lot of YouTube videos. I also talked on a video call with friends and family, which helped me while away to spend my time in isolation peacefully."

Yash also expressed his gratitude to doctors, nurses and everyone who are helping the people in this hour of crisis.

He also said that doctors and hospital workers are most exposed to risk, also that they take on all dangers despite knowing how fast the virus is spreading they put their own lives at risk and he is grateful to them for their perseverance.

He also said that this virus is very deceptive and dangerous and it does not care about the age of a person or even how strong your immune system is.

Further, a patient also becomes a virus carrier for his/her loved ones.

To save oneself social distancing has to be observed. The orders the government should be followed, lockdown, curfew all these really matter a lot and have to be followed. The WHO guidelines too have to be followed.
