New Delhi: BJP's national spokesperson, Shanawaz Hussain on Wednesday said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi was trying to divide the chief ministers of states on the basis of party and bent upon weakening the country's fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking to media persons through a video message, Hussain said, "Sonia Gandhi and the Congress are playing their filthy politics in such a gloomy situation whereas Prime Minister Narendra Modi while taking along all the chief ministers, is working hard to combat against this deadly pandemic."

"First Rahul Gandhi, then Priyanka Vadra, and now Sonia Gandhi and Dr Manmohan Singh have also joined in the same series. Sonia Gandhi had convened a meeting of Congress Chief Ministers and it clearly shows that in the battle of Corona pandemic, Congress is trying to differentiate between the government and the government of other parties in states," Hussain said.

"Congress has no right to weaken the fight against the Coronavirus. We should be together at this hour, but Ms Gandhi is raising questions about the lockdown. It is unfortunate that she is behaving in this manner. Congress has not helped in any way. They have never given any constructive suggestions. They have done the work of only attacking the government when the whole country is unitedly standing with the Prime Minister," he added.

"Ms Gandhi convened a meeting with the chief ministers of the Congress-ruled states and senior party leaders. In that party, Congress president Ms Gandhi questioned the Centre over the criteria it is using to judge how long lockdown will continue. Sonia Ji should stop dividing the Country's chief ministers like this. And I would like to say all these questions have already been answered. So the Congress is requested to at least not do politics on all these questions," Hussain further added.
