New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday raised questions over the visit of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval's son to China even after its repeated transgressions into the Indian territory.

The party also demanded a special session of Parliament to discuss about the border security and COVID-19 crisis in the country.

"Why does India Foundation keep visiting these countries? Why do they meet? What's the outcome? What's role of NSA Ajit Doval's son Shaurya Doval? Does he keep attending these meetings?," asked Congress spokesperson, Pawan Khera during a press conference.

He also mentioned about the visits made by the BJP delegations during 2009-11 and said, "We want to know if the BJP has been sending delegations to China to strengthen the bonds between Communist Party and BJP, what has the country gained out of this? Why are the borders insecure despite the bonds that you have?"

The Congress spokesperson demanded that the central government should call a special session of Parliament, immediately. He stated that even the Parliamentary committee meeting are not been organized to discuss the current crisis.

While reminding about the period of 1962 war, he said, "BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee demanded a session and the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru accepted the demand and even allowed the media to cover the session. Later, Vajpayee also led a protest on the issue in 1962."

Slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi over its foreign policy, Khera said, "The self-obsessed and personalised foreign policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not working now. PM Modi is showing 'red eyes' to those who are asking questions to him about our border security and territorial integrity while giving a clean chit to China."

Khera also alleged that the centre is only hiding the facts about Chinese transgressions into the Indian territory.

"If you don't want to listen to the advices of opposition parties, media or army veterans, atleast talk to your own party leaders who are cautioning the Government about Chinese transgressions into Arunachal Pradesh," said the Congress leader while mentioning about BJP MP Tapir Gao.
