Congress charge of BJP destabilizing MP government baseless: Ganesh Singh

BJP has refuted Congress' allegations that it tried to weaken Madhya Pradesh government by indulging in horse-trading in the state. Saffron party MP Ganesh Singh from the state said it was a baseless allegation.

New Delhi: Refuting allegations of weakening Madhya Pradesh government by indulging in horse-trading, the BJP on Wednesday said the charge was baseless as it did not do anything to destabilize the state government.

Speaking to ETV Bharat here, BJP MP from Madhya Pradesh Ganesh Singh said the allegations were not true and it was happening because of internal problems in the ruling party there.

"It's baseless. We have not done anything to weaken the sate government. Actually the government has lost confidence of people and that's why allegations were leveled against the BJP," he said."If they have any proof against what they are alleging, them they must report the matter to police and take help of the law," he added.Singh said the government knows well that it be difficult to face the upcoming state assembly session as it has failed to fulfill promises that it made."It seems that the Congress has accepted that it has failed in the state and that's why they are leveling allegations against us," the BJP MP said.He also refuted reports that BJP was in touch with several Congress leaders from Madhya Pradesh, saying it was not true."We are not in touch with any of their leaders in the state," he asserted categorically. Earlier, the Congress said that coalition MLAs were taken hostage by the BJP at a five-star hotel at a Manesar hotel in an attempt to topple the state government, but it was ‘foiled’.
