Budgam: Unidentified terrorists on Sunday shot at and injured a BJP worker in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. A police official said militants fired upon Abdul Hamid Najar, a resident of Mohiendpora area of Budgam in central Kashmir this morning, leaving him injured.
He said Najar is a BJP worker. Najar was shifted to a hospital and further details on his condition were awaited, the official added.
According to reports, Abdul Hamid Najar was a district president of Budgam BJP Other Backward Class (OBC) Morcha.
Earlier on August 6, A Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) sarpanch, Sajad Ahmad Khanday was shot dead by unidentified terrorists outside his residence at Vessu Gazigund area of Kulgam. He later succumbed to severe injuries.

Arif Ahmad, a sarpanch affiliated to BJP, was critically wounded after suspected militants fired upon him at Akhran Qazigund on August 4.
Earlier in July, a BJP leader named Wasim Ahmad Bari, his father and brother were shot dead by militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district.
Militants opened fire on BJP district president, outside his shop near police station Bandipora at around 9 pm, cops had stated.
