New Delhi: Two BJP MPs Uday Pratap Singh and Nishikant Dubey demanded in the Monsoon Session of the Parliament that the government bring in bills for Uniform Civil Code and population control to "save the country."
Raising the matter in the Lok Sabha, Dubey had said that the government should bring Uniform Civil Code Bill and Population Control Bill.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Uday Pratap Singh said that he has full faith in the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will solve this problem too in the same way he has solved other problems.
On being asked if the law drafted by the Parliament and sent to President had a provision of punishment for having more than 2 children, to this Singh said, "I do not agree on the provision of punishment, people will not be serious about this until there is a provision in the law."
He further said that uncontrolled population results in explosions of anarchy in the country from time to time so it is very necessary to curb the growth in population.
Singh’s demand comes a day after BJP MP Nishikant Dubey urged the government to urgently bring bills for Uniform Civil Code and population control.
It is to be noted that the Lok Sabha on Wednesday adjourned sine die and monsoon session came to an end.
