Varanasi: One of the new faces of the Yogi Adityanath's cabinet is different from other ministers. Ravindra Jaiswal is known for his clean image and never took salary as MLA.
As a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party he represents the Varanasi north constituency of Uttar Pradesh.
In 2012 and 2017 he was elected as MLA from this constituency and both the time he denied to take the salary as an MLA.
Jaiswal belongs to a well-to-do family and with the government allowance he first installed electric poles and solar lights in his constituency.
This is the first rejig of Adityanath's council of ministers since he came to power in 2017. Anil Rajbhar, who is an MLA from Shivpur constituency and Dr Neelkanth Tiwari both have been given independent charge for the first time.
Anil Rajbhar's father Ramjit Rajbhar has also been an MLA from Dhanapur Chiraigaon from Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). In 1994, Anil Rajbhar began his political career as student union president in a college in Chandauli.
Dr Neelkanth Tiwari started his political life from Harishchandra PG College in 1989 as the General Minister of the Student Union. He was subsequently elected president of the Central Bar Association in 2014.
After he was elected as village panchayat member. In 2017 he was elected as legislator from the Shivpur assembly. He has also been a consultant to the State Planning Commission.
The most significant aspect of Wednesday's reshuffle is that majority of the newly inducted ministers are first-timers with almost no administrative experience.
