New Delhi: Ahead of Jharkhand Assembly polls, the meeting of BJP's Central Election Committee was held at Prime Minister's residence in New Delhi to finalise the list of candidates on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by Prime Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, State president Laxman Giluwa and election in-charge Om Mathur among others.
During the meeting, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parties discussed the seat-sharing formula with the AJSU (All Jharkhand Students Union) Party and LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) for the polls.
It is to be noted that the NDA camp- BJP and its ally AJSU party are struggling over the seat-sharing pact. AJSU party is reportedly demanding 15 seats from BJP to contest elections while LJP is demanding six seats.
According to sources, BJP can offer nine seats to AJSU party and LJP one seat and can itself contest at 71 seats.
The 81-member Jharkhand assembly will have five-phased elections beginning November 30. The last phase of the polls will be held on December 20 and the counting of votes will take place on December 23.
Meanwhile, many ministers of BJP lost elections in Haryana and Maharashtra assembly elections, therefore the party is treading cautiously in Jharkhand and according to sources, the ticket of the current four ministers can be canceled this time based on their performance.
