Patna (Bihar): Ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, the state Congress hopes for a better result in the polls even the national party has been struggling for long to get back in its position.
The ruling party JUD's perspective is that Congress is sinking across the nation and it is impossible for the old party to revive in Bihar.

To get a clear view of Congress' situation ahead of Bihar polls, ETV Bharat sought expert's perception in this regard.
The national party which gave 20 Chief Ministers to Bihar stands marginalized at present.
In all the elections, the Congress party seems to be trying to revive itself, but the result gives a different expression.
In the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, the Congress party is claiming to contest more seats than it did in 2015.
The question is, Why does Congress still live on the trust of its ally? How are the party leaders claiming to revive in Bihar?
Seeking for responses, ETV Bharat interacted with the Bihar congress President Madan Mohan Jha who believed that the party will contest and win in Bihar with a better number of seats than 2015.
Jha said that senior leaders have been given the responsibilities to work at the ground level in several districts. Besides, new members have been selected to accompany them in their duties.
After assessing their performance and involvement, the report will be sent to Delhi, Jha said.
On the other hand, JDU spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan believes that the tenure of Congress in Bihar has already completed since long, and now only the decay of the party is left.
When Bihar has witnessed the good governance of Nitish Kumar and his allies, then how the alliance of RJD and Congress will get any positive response from the public. The people of the state are also well aware of the RJD's tenure, in which the Congress has been an equal partner. Even in the upcoming elections, there will be nothing special left for Congress.
Following the tussle between the ruling and oppositions in Bihar, ETV Bharat reached its conclusion with an expert's view.
Prof. DM Diwakar of AN Sinha Research Institute says that when regional party politics started, Congress was the largest party in the country. Congress had gone with the regional party to form the government, but this did not result in the favour of the Congress. Bihar is one of the examples for the same.
He said that if the Congress wants to revive itself in Bihar, first of all, they will have to contest on all the seats so that the number of their workers and supporters in the state can increase continuously.
Diwakar also believes that nothing would be better than handing over the command to the youth and new generation leaders, not to the old and senior leaders in the Congress.
Senior journalist Surendra Kishore said that the Congress suffered badly due to the Bhagalpur riots, after which the Muslim society gave up its support to the Congress. Apart from this, due to lack of clear policy of Congress on Mandal commission, the backward society also got separated from the Congress. The upper caste vote bank could not stay with the Congress because of its support to the Lalu - Rabdi government.

Significantly, in the last 30 years, Congress has become very weak at the ground level, said Kishore.
While traditional Congress voters went with the BJP, the other section left for RJD. Before the upcoming assembly elections, many Congress leaders are making many claims, but whether any changes will be seen in Congress, only time is going to tell.
