New Delhi/Bengaluru: The Election Commission (EC) has postponed biennial elections to the four Karnataka Legislative Council seats from two Graduates' constituencies and two Teachers' constituencies due to coronavirus-induced lockdown, an official said on Monday.

"Though the term of the four is ending on June 30, the poll panel is of the view that holding the election process in the current environment may not be feasible due to COVID-induced restrictions imposed for the maintenance of public safety and avoiding health hazards," said Joint Chief Electoral Officer H. Jnanesh in a statement from New Delhi.
