Aviation sector provides win-win opportunity for investors says Puri

Speaking at a curtain raiser event for the WINGS 2020, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that the aviation sector provides a win-win opportunity for not just the players within the country but also abroad.

New Delhi: Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday said that the Indian skies are all set for challenging times and privatisation in civil aviation will only strengthen the industry overall.

Speaking at a curtain raiser event here for the WINGS 2020, Puri said, "The aviation sector provides a win-win opportunity for not just the players within the country but also abroad."

He added that privatisation in the sector will strengthen the civil aviation sector and it will contribute to the expansion of the sector both in the short and the medium term.

The minister stressed the importance of drones in the country, adding that the government needs to produce a regulatory framework which balances the requirements of the security along with the enormous benefits that these objects provide.

Puri said that a digital platform for drone monitoring mechanism is almost ready. It will ensure that drones take off with coordinates already programmed and as long as it sticks to that flying path is all right and if it transgresses, then it will have to come back to the base. But, this requires a lot of technology on the front.

Wings India 2020, an international exhibition and conference, is scheduled from 12-15 March 2020 at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad.
