All-party meet underway, focus on smooth House proceedings

New Delhi: An all-party meeting called by the government to ensure smooth proceedings in the Parliament was held in the country's capital, sources said on Wednesday.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Railway and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, and his deputy Arjun Ram Meghwal from the treasury benches were present in the meeting, apart from Social Justice Minister Thawarchand Gehlot and External Affairs MoS V Muraleedhar.

From the Congress, Anand Sharma and Ghulam Nabi Azad were present along with other opposition floor leaders.

The sources said the meeting agenda included discussion on important Bills that need to be passed in the Monsoon Session of Parliament that concludes on October 1.
