Ahmedabad: Pastor abuses minor, forces religious conversion

A shocking incident has come to light in Ahmedabad where a pastor has been booked by police for allegedly abusing, stalking and threatening a minor. The victim has also stated that the accused forced her to share her obscene pictures and intimidated her to accept Christianity.

Ahmedabad: A pastor, who runs Khlesia church near Rabari colony, has been booked for allegedly molesting, stalking, intimidating a 16-year old girl. The minor has also accused the pastor of allegedly forcing her to share her indecent photographs and threatened her to accept Christianity. A complaint has been filed against the accused at Amraiwadi police station in Ahmedabad.

According to the complaint, she came into contact with the pastor during Christmas last year when she visited the church with her neighbour. The series of the incident was going on since December 25 and the pastor had also insisted the girl invite her parents to the church.

"He started chatting with me on Whatsapp and also made video calls to her when I was alone. He insisted me to undress on one of the video calls and also threatened me to accept Christianity," the complaint read.

It stated further, "He also made videos of himself. The pastor also threatened her not to tell anyone about the incidents to anyone in the family and also bring her parents to the Chruch for their religious conversion."

The victim also alleged that a few days ago the pastor had sent some of her obscene pictures to her distant relative. Upset by this, the minor revealed everything to her father who informed the police.

Police have detained the accused and he has booked under sections 354D, 354C, 506,2 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and also under various sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). Political outfits reached the police station after the incident came to light and staged a protest demanding the arrest of the accused.

"A case has been registered against the accused after we recorded the girl's statement. We are investigating the matter and the accused has been sent for his COVID-19 test," the police said.
