Hyderabad (Telangana): At least 33 students from the Telangana Minorities Education Residential School in Asif Nagar area of Hyderabad's Mehdipatnam district were admitted to the Niloufer Hospital on Monday morning after suffering from a suspected case of food poisoning.
The students complained of abdominal pain and vomiting after consuming a meal served at the residential school on Sunday afternoon.
"They complained of vomiting and abdominal pain. We've kept them in a special ward and have started the treatment, " said Dr. Murali Krishna, Superintendent, Niloufer Hospital.
Dr. Krishna added, "the students are in the age of around 10 to 13. They ate the hostel food yesterday (Sunday) afternoon and immediately presented with stomach pain and vomiting. They were brought to the hospital today (Monday) morning and admitted."

The students are presently in a stable condition, said the doctor.
A similar incident had taken place in the month of June this year when 32 students from the Government Model Residential Girls’ College were diagnosed with food poisoning after eating the food served at the school’s mess in the Karimnagar district of Telangana.
