Delhi: The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation has been assigned the task to press into service over 2,200 good conditioned buses to transport over 30,000 people to Ahmedabad from all over the state to participate in US President Donald Trump’s public programme at the world-class Sardar Patel Stadium on February 24.
As the preparations for Trump's two day maiden visit to India is on, arrangments of easy transportation facilities have been made by the state government. All the buses will be monitored by GPS network, purportedly 400 buses will be from Rajkot city alone.

All the divisional headquarters of the state transport corporation have been asked to put into service only new series of buses and choose drivers and conductors who are hospitable enough and good at their work.
They will be wearing the uniform and sporting identity cards on their lapel. According to the sources, drivers who have never had any accident or criminal cases against them will be selected.
Meanwhile, supervisors to monitor the buses have also been appointed, however, the drivers and conductors will be given proper orientation and briefing before Trump's visit.

In addition to that, the transport department of the state government has decided to give a 20 per cent discount on the fee for the contract buses.
In all 2,200 buses have been allotted on the day of Trump’s programme. Reports say some local and express bus routes can be cancelled. A total of 150 buses active on local routes from the Rajkot division would be cancelled with only 50 buses kept to run on local routes.
