Guwahati (Assam): Minister of Transport and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Assam, Chandra Mohan Patowary stirred controversy by criticising the World Health Organisation (WHO) for its failure to come up with a cure for Covid-19 despite spending billions of dollars.

Patowary said on Thursday while interacting with newsmen on the sidelines of an official function. He also slammed the WHO for scaring the people across the world over COVID 19.

Patowary who is also the industries and commerce minister of the state also said that it is God who had made the list of those people to be killed due to COVID-19.

"Bhagawan or God or Allah, he had made this list from his computers. The COVID-19 virus was sent from God's supercomputer to the earth and it had the list of people who it will affect and kill."

"We have seen that even after taking two doses of the vaccine people have died. However, the two-dose boosts one's immunity. But why an organization like WHO have failed to come out with medicines to treat COVID-19? The scientists who often resort to tall claims, why have they failed?" he asked.

"Actually, it is all about nature. This (COVID-19)was by nature and only nature can control it. Nature is only retaliating against the war we have started against nature. As per our wish, we have felled trees so nature is now retaliating," he said.

"It does not matter if the third wave or the fourth wave (of Covid 19) hits us. The question is why you have not been able to come out with a medicine? It is your work to do scientific research. WHO have spent crores and billions on this but where is the medicine?
