Mau: Uttar Pradesh Police has registered a case against 14 people under the 'Love Jihad' ordinance after a 30-year-old woman was reportedly kidnapped just two days before her marriage.
A case was registered on the basis of the victim's father complaint which stated that his daughter was abducted by a youth named Shabab alias Rahul. He said that they were getting married on November 30.
However, the police said that the couple had eloped and the man is already married.
The incident was reported from Molnalganj village under Chiraiyyakot police station and an FIR has been registered under various sections of Uttar Pradesh law against ordinance against forced religious conversions.

Woman's father alleged that Shabab was forcing his daughter for religious conversion for marriage. He said that Shabab is their neighbour and is a driver by profession.
Speaking on the issue, Additional Superintendent of Police, Tribhuvan Nath Tripathi said, “A boy and a girl from different faiths have eloped from their house in Molnaganj village of Chirayakot police station area. The boy is already married, in which the police have filed a case under the 366, 506 and 3/5 Uttar Pradesh Laws Against forced conversion.
The police has started investigating the case and a three-member team has been constituted for the same."
