Thane- Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has taken serious note of the incident of goon-like people beating up ST drivers and conductors in Karnataka. Such beatings are wrong and the safety of our passengers and drivers and conductors is important in my opinion. Minister Sarnaik has warned that if such incidents are happening repeatedly, we are not fools. Sarnaik also said that he will request the Chief Minister and both Deputy Chief Ministers to talk to the Chief Minister of Karnataka about this. The linguistic dispute in the Maharashtra and Karnataka border area is not new. While the inter-state bus service of the State Transport Service was running in both the states, some goon-like people stopped the ST driver and conductor in Karnataka and beat him up. The vehicle was also damaged. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has condemned this.  The Shiv Sena, along with Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray, has taken the stand that Karwar and Nipani should be brought to Maharashtra along with Belgaum. Minister Sarnaik said that he was proud that Shiv Sainiks had staged many protests for this and many had gone to jail, and reminded them that Eknath Shinde, the main leader of the party of which I am a minister, was also in jail for two months. So, if people with hooligan tendencies come at night and beat up passengers and drivers, it is wrong. Minister Sarnaik said that he has called the transport managers and ordered them to register a case in this regard. The safety of our passengers and drivers is important to me. Therefore, if such incidents are happening repeatedly, we are not full of bangles in our hands. After the minister, we are Shiv Sainiks first. Minister Sarnaik has given such a stern warning.  Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik presented the facts about the ongoing controversy over ST concessions. Journalists at Dharashiv gave a statement that journalists should be given free concessions in ST travel. But he was told that every state's transport service is losing money, ST is losing Rs 3 crore per day. If we look at the current situation, we have given concessions to our beloved sisters, senior citizens have concessions, if journalists are also given concessions and many journalists in the state join them, it will be difficult to run the transport service. Concessions for women and senior citizens will not be stopped, as the government gives subsidies as compensation for providing concessions, but there is a slight delay as they are not received on time. Therefore, since it is the duty of the state government to run the transport service, no other schemes can be given from now on, he explained.
