5 Jawans Injured As IED Planted By Naxalites Explodes In Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

The IED explosion occurred in Tarrem police station area of Chhattisgarh when a team of security personnel was out on a demining exercise from Chinngelur CRPF camp in the area, a police official said. The injured soldiers were sent to Bijapur district hospital for better treatment and all of them are stated to be out of danger.

Bijapur: Security personnel deployed on the Naxal front in the Tarrem police station area of ​​Naxal-affected Bijapur have come under the attack by Naxalites, who triggered an IED blast. About 5 soldiers have been injured in this explosion. The injured soldiers have been admitted to a nearby hospital, where their treatment is going on. Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav has confirmed that these soldiers were injured in the blast.

Blast happened while defusing IED: According to the information, on Sunday morning, CRPF jawans from Chinnagelur CRPF camp had gone to the Tarrem area for area domination. During this time, an IED bomb planted by Naxalites was found at a distance of about 350 meters from Chinnagelur CRPF camp. A team of security personnel was engaged in detecting and destroying IEDs.

During this time, the security personnel saw a wire attached to the pressure IED. When they were searching for the bomb attached to the wire, it exploded and five jawans were injured.

"After first aid, the injured soldiers were brought to Bijapur district headquarters for proper treatment and their treatment is going on. Preparations are being made to refer the injured soldiers to Raipur by helicopter", said Chandrakant Govarna, ASP, Bijapur.

Injured soldiers referred to Raipur: After first aid, the injured soldiers in the IED blast were brought to the district hospital Bijapur. The injured were treated here. After which they were sent to Raipur by helicopter for proper treatment. All the injured soldiers are out of danger, sources said.

The injured soldiers belonging to CRPF 153rd Battalion include AC Saket, Inspector Sanjay, City/DH Pawan Kalyan, City/GD Lochan Mohta and CT/GD Dule Rajendra.
